Moving to a Libre system.

I’m nearly at the point where I can make the transition to an entirely free and open system on my laptop. Nouveau is reaching a reasonable level of maturity and once the Battery Management is in place (soon) I’ll be jumping in with both feet and (hopefully) never looking back. Need to make sure I keep a separate /home partition so I don’t do anything stupid.

I’ll either be using Gentoo or Fedora. Gentoo is the main contender for me, the control and the access to the latest in open source tech is very appealing to me. On the other hand I have Fedora, it is the most progressive of the binary distributions in pushing new free/open tech, installing and updating will be quicker, things will break less often and I’ll likely have a superior level of support.

Decisions, decisions.

I got elected!

After what seems like an age, the BoG elections are over and I made it (just).

Hopefully now that this has been sorted the party can get it’s focus back (although we still have the small issue of what the board actually does).

Were moving forward, were making progress, were gaining lots of members and looking forward to a fruitful scottish election!

It’s all baby steps, but eventually the baby will start running around the political house and causing all sorts of havoc thoughtful contributions to the system :)

Board of Governors 2010 Elections…
